Linguatime is committed to providing English language programmes that focus on the learner. Our approach is student-centred and communicative, which means that teachers will focus on your aims and interests to help you use English in an effective and practical way. When starting your course, your current knowledge of English is assessed by a written placement and oral test, to make sure you are placed in a class at the right level. There are 5 General English levels starting from Elementary to Advanced. It normally takes around 180 classroom hours (12 weeks) of 45 minutes each to complete a level and move on to the next one, however, this also depends on your level when you first start. A written Progress Test has to be taken before moving up to a higher level. The General English courses follow a course book which will be given to you to use during the duration of the course. Your teacher will also use other teaching materials which include audio tapes, videos, quizzes, grammar games and articles from newspapers and magazines. Long term students have a monthly tutorial (counselling session) to discuss progress. The tutorial is also an opportunity to discuss strengths and developmental areas in English and recommendations for further study.
